In May 2010, the MCO returned to the Scala for the first time in five years, invited as a guest of the Filarmonica della Scala Season. "Harding conquers the Scala with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra" was the headline in the newspaper "Il Giorno Milano" after an enthusiastically received performance of Mahler's Symphony no. 1 at the Teatro alla Scala. The concert was recorded by the Italian station Radio 3 RAI.

FOR GUSTAV MAHLER'S 150TH BIRTHDAY
In July 2010 a team of Deutsche Welle accompanied a day-long birthday celebration honouring Gustav Mahler in Kalište, where the composer was born on 7 July 1860. The MCO concert, which featured internationally renowned singers Thomas Hampson, Anne Sofie von Otter and Marita Sølberg, was the high point of the celebration. Podcast: MCO-portrait, GEO saison // In June 2009, two journalists from the magazine GEO accompanied the MCO to the Festival of North Norway in Harstad. The resulting article reports on rehearsals and concerts, provides a glimpse into the lives of MCO musicians on tour and describes the breathtaking natural surroundings illuminated by Norway's midnight sun.

The orchestra played Beethoven’s Symphony no.3 “Eroica” under the direction of its Principal Conductor Daniel Harding in Bilbao while touring in Spain. The performance on 10 February 2010 was recorded by Teldex Studio Berlin (Sound engineer: Philipp Knop).

On 7 February 2007, the MCO performed Joseph Haydn’s Symphony no. 90 in C Major under the baton of Daniel Harding in Torino. The concert was recorded by the Italian radio station Radio 3 RAI. CHAMBER MUSIC IN BONN // On 29 September 2008 members of the MCO played a chamber music concert in Bonn. The programme featured Poulenc’s Trio for oboe, bassoon and piano op. 43, Glinka’s Trio Pathetique and Mozart’s Quintet in E-flat major KV 452. The concert was recorded by Deutsche Welle. ZDF ASPEKTE: THE WONDER OF CARACAS In 2007, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Claudio Abbado travelled to Venezuela to work with the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela. During their visit to Caracas, the musicians led workshops and masterclasses and became familiar with the unique musical instruction program of the Sistema . A camera team from ZDF aspekte accompanied the orchestra and Claudio Abbado during this extraordinary project. (In German language).
