The Mahler Chamber Orchestra, with its unusual structure, internationality and outstanding quality, is an ensemble unique to the present time. Its organisation and method of operation make it a model for the future of the European orchestral landscape.
The ensemble. founded by the musicians in 1997, does not receive any institutional sponsorship and can act independently, without being indebted to public support. The extraordinary freedom created by the orchestra’s structure, however, is not without financial requirements.
