As part of its summer residency in Grafenegg, the MCO will again perform a Prélude chamber music concert in the historic riding school in addition to the symphony concert on the same evening.
Chamber music is an important addition to the symphonic programming and opera projects on the MCO's schedule. Ensembles of MCO soloists are formed according to the needs of the program for each chamber music project. The chamber concerts are varied in character - ensembles of MCO soloists play at the chamber music series of international promoters, for example the Lunch Concerts at Berlin's Philharmonie, or at official occasions like the presentation of the Roland Berger Human Dignity Award, or as guests at European embassies. The concerts add a particularly special element when they allow for expansion into unusual performance locations, such as Ferrara's medieval city tower.
