Good restaurants, a yoga mat, good coffee and my MacBook.

Christopher Dicken is the solo trumpet of both the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, a member of Claudio Abbado's LUCERNE FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA and Artistic Director of WorldBrass.

Born in Manchester, England, Christopher studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, during which time he won numerous prizes and developed his interest in early music and playing on historic instruments. In 1997 he moved to Berlin for further study with Prof. Konradin Groth and a year later he enrolled at the Hochschüle für Musik Saar-University of Music Saarbrücken  studying with Prof. Peter Leiner.

Christopher has appeared as a guest with an extensive range of ensembles, including: Capella Andrea Barca (with Andras Schiff), Chamber Orchestra of Europe (Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Ivan Fischer) Concerto Köln, Dunedin Consort, Ensemble Modern (with John Adams, George Benjamin), European Brandenburg Ensemble (with Trevor Pinnock), NDR Symphony Orchestra (with Christoph Eschenbach), and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra (with Daniel Harding).

Since 2011 Christopher is a visiting lecturer for Natural Trumpet at the Hochschule für Musik Saar- University of Music, Saarbrücken, Germany, and has given masterclasses in Germany, Brazil and Argentina.
