The first German tour of the year brought the MCO to its residence cities of Dortmund, Cologne and Essen, followed by performances in Heidelberg and Vienna.

The concert on 24 March 2011 at the Philharmonie Essen was recorded by Deutschlandfunk and will be broadcast on 8 May 2011 at 09:05 pm on the programme „Konzertdokument der Woche“ (Concert Document of the Week)
