With a programme that brings chamber music and symphonic works together, the MCO tours to Poland for the first time in its history in November 2011. The MCO appears there as NRW’s residence orchestra as part of the NRW cultural season in Poland. The intention of the 2011/2012 "Poland-North Rhine-Westphalia Year" is to intensify on a broad basis the cultural, social and political exchange between Poland and the German region.

The concerts will take place in Poznan, Warsaw and Cracow.
