Graduated at the Conservatory “Arcangelo Corelli” of Messina, and a winner of important competitions, such as the “Adriano Belli” of Spoleto in 1987 and the “Toti Dal Monte” in 1992, Emanuele Giannino made his debut in L’italiana in Algeri and in Lasonnambula in Spoleto.
He has established an international career, performing regularly on some among the world’s most prestigious concert stages and opera houses, including Teatro alla Scala, Liceu in Barcelona, Opernhaus in Zürich, Monnaie in Bruxelles, Opéra National de Paris, Semperoper in Dresden, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Comunale di Bologna and Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence.
Recent performances have included Orphée aux Enfers at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, La rondine,Turandot and Madama Butterfly at the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago and at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Lucrezia Borgia at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Manon Lescaut at the Opernhaus in Leipzig and Tosca at the Opéra de Nantes, Les contes d’Hoffmann at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Semyon Kotko at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Le nozze di Figaro at the Opéra de Rouen and in Versailles.
His upcoming engagements include Otello (Roderigo) in Baden Baden.
The 2006/07 has brought him to perform Chérubin at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Falstaff and I pagliacci at the Monnaie in Bruxelles and Le nozze di Figaro (Basilio) at the Opéra de Nantes and in Angers.
Active also on the concert side, he has sung Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Petite messe solennelle (Teatro alla Scala) and Messa di Gloria, Beethoven’s IX Symphony and Christus am Ölberge.
During his career he took part in some important productions, including Die Zauberflöte (Monostatos) at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Le nozze di Figaro (Basilio) at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale in Florence, Gianni Schicchi (Gherardo) at the Teatro alla Scala, Otello (Roderigo) at the Opéra National de Paris, Oedipe (Laios) by Enescu at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Macbeth (Malcom) at the Opernhaus in Zürich, L’elisir d’amore (Nemorino) in Korea, L’italiana in Algeri (Lindoro) at the Liceu di Barcellona and at the Semperoper in Dresden, La sonnambula (Elvino) at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Don Pasquale (Ernesto) in Bilbao, Lucia di Lammermoor (Edgardo) at the Canadian Opera in Toronto. His repertory also includes Ilturco in Italia, L’amico Fritz, Ilmatrimonio segreto, Iquatro rusteghi, Sigismondo, Le donne rivali, L’occasione fa il ladro and Turandot.
His discography includes Le donne rivali by Cimarosa (recorded in 1994), Piramo e Tisbe by Hasse (recorded in 1996), Messa di Gloria by Rossini (2000) and La clochette by Duni (2002).
